The Best Gym Equipment to Complete Any New Gym

Being a New Gym Specialist, people rely upon my experience in setting up new gyms to help them make the right decision for their equipment needs.  For a truly complete Gym Package and to provide the best gym equipment, it is important to incorporate various miscellaneous products along with your standard fitness equipment to provide for a varied workout experience for your members.  Such diversification not only prevents boredom from setting in from always doing the same exercises, but it actually increases the member’s overall fitness level by attacking the muscles from different angles through different methods.

The use of these products as part of an overall fitness regimen goes hand in hand with the theory of “Muscle Confusion.”  They help to push the member through strength and weight loss plateaus so that they can continue advancing towards greater health and fitness.

Of course, every new gym needs to have a full amount of strength equipment and cardio equipment.  Selectorized Equipment that, as a circuit, works each body part is an essential

component and is used by all types of members in a gym, from novices to senior citizens to those members who only have a limited time to hit your gym and get their daily workout in.  The appeal of selectorized equipment lies in its user friendliness, safety, adjustability and quick access for a fast yet comprehensive full body training experience.

Free Weight and Plate Loaded Equipment provide stations for more advanced users and for those who wish to lift heavier weights.  Free Weight equipment targets the stability muscles and is a necessary component to any gym.  Plate loaded equipment allows the user to load their own plates as opposed to using the weight stack increments of a selectorized machine.  Olympic plates, bars and dumbbells are all part of the Free Weight section of a gym.

Cardio Equipment, (treadmills, upright bikes, spin bikes, ellipticals and recumbent bikes), is also a necessary and heavily used area in a gym.  Some members use only cardio equipment whereas others employ it for warming up before their workout, cooling down after their workout, or as interval training as a part of their overall workout.  In any case, cardio equipment is a standard for gyms.

Miscellaneous Products.

Miscellaneous Products can be broken down in 2 categories:

  1. Large scale products that add a new training section to your new gym
  2. Smaller items that add to the overall versatility of training methods for your members

Large Scale Miscellaneous Products include stations such as an Iron Man Training Tower.

Iron man training center

This impressive, fully loaded piece of equipment is an All-in-One functional training multi station gym that is made for intense group fitness training.  Although not a mainstay in every new gym, the Iron Man Training Tower is ideal for those gyms looking to offer additional specific training that combines full body weight stations with various modes of resistance training.  As a large scale piece, this unit requires a large amount of space and is best used in gyms where there is an additional room for this type of specified training.

Spin Bikes are also a large scale miscellaneous product.  A few spin bikes can be placed alongside of the cardio equipment, but to fully capitalize on spinning training, spin bikes should be placed in a separate room or area of the gym as a group, (generally no less than 11 bikes and usually around 21 bikes).  This allows for specialized Spin Classes, bringing another element into the gym.

Small Scale Miscellaneous Products include a host of smaller equipment selections and training apparatus to enhance the member’s workout.

These include:

  • Cast Iron Kettle Bells
  • Cable Attachment Handles for machines
  • Yoga Mats
  • Stability Balls
  • Resistance Tubing – 5 resistance strengths
  • Classic Plyometric Boxes
  • Soft Plyometric Boxes
  • Fitness Bars
  • Flat Resistance Bands
  • Classic Medicine Balls
  • Dual Grip Medicine Balls
  • Slam Balls
  • Wall Balls
  • Weighted Vests
  • Speed Jump Ropes
  • Foam Rollers
  • Ab Wheel
  • Push Up Bars
  • Treadmill Mat
  • 4’ x 6’ x ½” thick Rubber Mats
  • 30 ft. and 50 ft. Battle Ropes

Whether the goal is toning or building, the use of specialized miscellaneous products coupled with the mainstay of strength equipment and cardio equipment will increase the members’ enthusiasm, enhance and speed their results and make your new gym an even more desirable and special place.

Contact your New Gym Specialist for further information on how to use miscellaneous products to complete your new gym.
